Well Water Testing Results To Be Discussed Tonight At Oakfield Town Hall

Residents living in the Town of Oakfield who had their well water tested last month can find out more about the results during a meeting at the Town Hall tonight at 7 p.m. Diana Tscheschlok of the Fond du Lac County UW-Extension Service will be the presenter. She says they tested for arsenic, bacteria and nitrates. The last time they tested in that area they did get some wells with traces of arsenic in them. Fifty-six families participated in the recent sampling. She says results were mailed to them, but if you can’t find them or lost your copy they will have copies of the results available at the meeting. Others can take advantage of getting their wells sampled for bacteria and nitrate through the County Health Department if they wish. Sample bottles will be available. For pregnant women and families with a baby younger than a year who meet the income guidelines, testing can be done at no cost.
