WI Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner Announces Plan to Retire in 2021

Wisconsin Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner has announced that
he will retire from congress in January of 2021. Sensenbrenner, a Republican
lawmaker from Brookfield, has represented the fifth Congressional District in
Wisconsin for 40 years. “When I began my public service in 1968, I said I would
know when it was time to step back,” Sensenbrenner said in a news release
Wednesday. “After careful consideration, I have determined at the completion of
this term, my 21st term in congress, it will be that time.”
Sensenbrenner went on to say that he believes he is leaving his district, his
party and his country in a better place than when he began serving.
