Windy Wednesday

Winds gusting up to nearly 50 miles an hour in the Fond du Lac area caused quite a bit of damage Wednesday. There were numerous reports of power lines, light poles, street signs, and trees or tree branches being blown down. In Fond du Lac the Fire Department dealt with a small grass fire at 612 South Main Street caused by sparking wires. A large tree also fell on a house at 265 Dahl Place.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials also reported a tree fell down on a house in the Malone area and a small trailer being pulled by a pickup truck on Highway 26 in Brandon flipped over. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Department reported a semi tipped over into a ditch in the Town of Fox Lake. Waupun Police reported a trampoline blew out of yard ending up on a nearby road. According to the National Weather Service reported a top wind gust of 48 miles per hour in Fond du Lac. Hortonville recorded a 68 mile an hour wind gust and New London 66 miles an hour.
