Wisconsin Regional Art Show At FDL Public Library Gallery This Month

The Fond du Lac Public Library Langdon Divers Gallery is the site of the annual Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) show August 5 through September 2.

Now in its 75th year, WRAP provides statewide art workshops and exhibits for nonprofessional artists. It encourages creative growth through community exhibits, learning opportunities and group critiques and evaluation discussions.

The public is invited to an artists’ reception at 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, August 21. Refreshments will be served.

On Saturday, August 29, the public is invited to a WRAP workshop and critique. Presenters and judges will be artists Kathleen Jelinek and Patty Aker. From 10 a.m. to noon, Aker will present a workshop on painting on silk. Then after a lunch break, Jelinek will offer a critique of the pieces in the exhibit from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Both sessions are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Fond du Lac WRAP exhibit is sponsored by Fond du Lac Artists’ Association; for more information, call (920) 322-0495.

The library’s gallery is a showcase for local and regional artists. The space is curated by volunteer artist Mel Kolstad, who can be contacted at mel@kolstad.net.
