Wounded Warriors Softball Team Return To FDL For Games

The Wounded Warriors Softball team returns to Fond du Lac this weekend for several games and a welcome dinner. Josh Wege of Campbellsport and Saul Bosquez of Brownsville have been on the team since it was founded in 2011. Both lost legs in IED explosions while serving this country. Josh says the team allows him to continue to serve through inspiration. He says team members hold a kids softball camp for kids from 8 to 12-years-old who are also amputees or living with prosthetics. He says the camp gives those kids a chance to get away from Mom and Dad. He says parents love their kids, but really can’t relate and this gives those kids a taste of a real childhood. The Wounded Warriors Softball team will play teams from the Fond du Lac Fire Department, Police Department, and a local team starting at noon Saturday at Lakeside Park. A welcome dinner is at 5 p.m. tonight at South Hills Country Club. Tickets are $40 and are available at the Fond du Lac Softball Facebook page. There is no admission fee for the games.
