Yellow Alert Issued At Two FDL Schools

On Friday, April 29, 2016 at 11:14am, officers with the Fond du Lac Police received information that a Fond du Lac man had made threats to his estranged wife and possibly his children.  Because the children are students in Fond du Lac, the Fond du Lac School District and staff at Fond du Lac High School and Rosenow Elementary School were notified of the situation and police presence was increased in these locations as a precaution.  Both of these schools were placed on yellow alert by the school district.   Meanwhile, officers continued to investigate the complaint and tried to locate the male subject.

During the incident, information was developed that the male subject was at work at a location outside of Fond du Lac County.  The Fond du Lac Police Department coordinated efforts with the Berlin Police Department and Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the male subject was taken into custody without incident on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 1:50pm.

This incident is another example of an excellent working relationship between the Fond du Lac Police Department and the Fond du Lac School District.  While no threat actually developed in this case, the collaborative effort on everybody’s part along with existing safety protocols helped ensure necessary precautions were put in place and that the safety of the children in these schools was the priority.

The investigation of the possible threats made in this incident is ongoing.  No other information regarding this case is available at this time.
