Young Becomes Big Brothers Big Sisters Executive Director

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Fond du Lac County has a new executive director. Tammy Young says she’s happy to be associated with the work Big Brothers Big Sisters does. Young spent 11 years with the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce serving as their Director of Programs and Services. She succeeds Kay Vandervort who did several stints with Big Brothers Big Sisters and at one time also was the Executive Director for the Volunteer Center of Fond du Lac County. Kay is now retired and Young says too was ready for a change. She says has an elementary education degree from the UW – Oshkosh and she says working for an agency that helps children is something she can appreciate. The agency matches children with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Big Couples, or Big Families in a community-based program.   Children aged 6 through 13 can enroll in the program through parent or guardian referral.  Volunteers need to be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.  For more information about the program or to volunteer, call 920-922-8200 or visit www.bbbsfdl.org
