Young Waives Preliminary Hearing In Green Lake County Court
The former Waupun police officer who went on a crime spree last August has been bound over for trial in Green Lake County Court. Forty-four-year-old Bradley Young of Brandon faces three burglary counts and four more charges in Green Lake County. He was in court for a preliminary hearing and waived his right to it. He allegedly broke into grocery stores in Berlin, Markesan and Waupun last summer. Young has already been charged in Barron and Burnett County, but it was an attempted break-in at a Green Lake restaurant that launched a manhunt last August. He was a lieutenant and 22 year veteran of the Waupun Police Department when he resigned in the wake of his alleged crimes. Next week a status conference in his Burnett County case is scheduled and a plea hearing in Barron County Court.
