Badgers Beat Gophers, Win Big Ten West Title & Reclaim The Axe

#12 Wisconsin 38, #8 Minnesota 17

–Jack Coan threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns as the Badgers reclaimed Paul Bunyan’s Axe and claimed the Big Ten West Division Championship. Jonathan Taylor added two rushing touchdowns in the victory, while Quintez Cephus had five catches for 114 yards and a score. 

Gophers quarterback Tanner Morgan tossed two scores on 296 yards passing, 147 of those yards went to receiver Rashod Bateman, who hauled in a touchdown pass on the day

Wisconsin advances to play in the Big Ten Championship Game next Saturday in Indianapolis against Ohio State. It’s the sixth time Wisconsin will compete in the title game – with the Badgers holding a record of 2-3 in the game. Kickoff next Saturday is set for 7 pm.
