Big Fourth Quarter Sends SPASH Past Fondy Boys

Stevens Points rallied to beat Fond du Lac 59-54 in the Division One Regional Final on Monday night in Stevens Point.  Fondy controlled tempo early and led the Wisconsin Valley champs 14-12 after one, 24-19 at the half, and 33-32 after 3 quarters.  SPASH’s phenom freshman duo of Sam Hauser and Trevor Anderson found their stride in the fourth quarter as the Panthers outscored Fondy 27-21 to secure the win.  Hauser scored 9 of his game high 20 in the fourth, including a clutch three with less than 2 minutes left.  Anderson scored 11 of his 15 in the fourth quarter as well.  Max Schebel ended his varsity career with 13 points while Logan Wendt chipped in 12.  The Cardinals season ends at 12-12.  Stevens Point will travel to Oshkosh North on Thursday night for a Sectional Semifinal matchup with the FVA champs.
