Birschbach Named Midwest Conference Player of the Year

Ripon College Forward Paige Birschbach has been named Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, as released Tuesday by the conference office, becoming the first player in program history to earn Player of the Year honors. She was an integral part of a Red Hawks team that set a program record with 14 wins, finishing the season with an overall record of 14-3-1, while helping the team become regionally-ranked for the first time in program history.



A Chemistry major from Eden, Wis., Birschbach was also named First Team All-Conference for the third consecutive year after tying a school record with 25 goals, which led all of Division-III this season. Birschbach also led the conference in points with a school record of 63, which ranked second in the nation. Her 13 assists is the third-highest single season total in program history and ranked ninth in D-III, while ranking second in the MWC. A two-time All-Region selection, Birschbach’s eight game-winning goals were the second-most in the conference and eighth in the country, while her four hat tricks set a new single season school record.



Birschbach finishes her career with a school record eight hat tricks. She also ranks second in career assists (33) and third in both career goals (52) and points (137).
