Milwaukee 3, Chicago Cubs 1

The Brewers are National League Central Champs! Orlando Arcia went 4-4 at the plate, while the National League MVP Christian Yelich added three hits of his own to lift Milwaukee past the Cubs in a tiebreaker game at Wrigley Field. Yelich got the Brewers on the board first, with a run-scoring single in the third inning. Chicago wouldn’t go away quietly, with Anthony Rizzo knotting the game back up in the fifth with a 429 foot shot to right field. Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun delivered RBI singles in the eighth to put the Brewers ahead, and Josh Hader struck out three in a two inning save to preserve the win. Brewers starter Jhoulys Chacin allowed a run on one hit in 5 & ⅔ innings – while Corey Knebel picked up the win in relief, pitching a scoreless seventh inning. The Brewers advance to the National League Division Series – and will host game one in the best-of-five series Thursday night at Miller Park.
