Cardinals, Ledgers Stopped In Hockey Sectional

 

Both Fond du Lac
and St. Mary’s Springs hockey saw their season’s come to an end in the
Sectional Semifinals on Tuesday night.  
#1 seed Cedarburg blanked Fond
du Lac
3-0 at the Ozaukee Ice Arena. The Bulldog
defenseman Nick Russo scored from the Blue Line at 10:55 of the 1st
period.  It stayed that way until Tom
Bibby found the back of the net to make it 2-0 at 1:34 of the third.  Evan Gabel added an empty netter to clinch
the trip to Sectional Final at 15:57.   Fondy goalie William Shober turned back 34 of
37 Bulldog shots.  Cedarburg’s Matt McCoy
made 31 saves on the night.  Fondy’s
season ends at 11-14-1

St. Mary’s Springs Academy dropped their Sectional Semifinal at University School 5-3 on Tuesday night.  The Ledgers spotted U-School a 4-0 lead
before charging back.  Another Grebe
scored the first two Ledger goals while Conner Black cut the lead to 4-3 midway
through the final period.  U-School added
an empty netter late to secure their spot in the Sectional Final.   St. Mary’s
Springs season ends at 12-13-1

 

University School and Cedarburg will meet on Saturday at Wilson
Park in Milwaukee
at 4pm in the Section 8, Sectional Final.
