Dock Spiders Win a Nail Biter over Green Bay

FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (5-2) edged out the
Green Bay Booyah (4-3) in a tightly contested battle. The Booyah fought back to
lose 6-5.

It all started in the first inning with a Zeb Adreon (Iowa) two run, two out double. Adreon in his first game as a Dock Spider went 1-3 with a walk.

The Dock Spiders came up and scored in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. Zack Prajzner (Notre Dame) singled and then Drew Hmielewski (Minnesota) followed up with an RBI double in the fourth to make it 3-0.

In the fifth it was Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) and Adreon who
successfully converted a double steal to get themselves in scoring position. Then
Cherokee LeBeau (Oakland) doubled to bring them both home and put the lead at 5-0.

Jonathon Cowles (Colorado-Colorado Springs) went five and a third and left in the sixth leaving two men on for Kyle Hall (Indiana Wesleyan) came on and gave up three runs in the sixth as the Booyah cut the deficit to 5-3.

Thomas Paulich (Stevens Institute of Technology) would
get a run back off an RBI single by
Andrew Schleusner (Montana State Billings), and get the lead to 6-3.

A sloppy eighth inning caused the game to become a nail biter as two runs came in on defensive lapses. An Adreon throw to the plate got away and scored a run, followed by another run scoring on a
passed ball.

Jack Owens (Santa Ana) left a runner on base as he struck out three in the top of the ninth to secure the 6-5 victory.

The Dock Spiders will head to Green Bay to play tomorrow night at 6:35 and then come back home for a two game set against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
