Fondy Boys Roll By Horlick In Opener

The Fond du Lac boys basketball team rolled by Racine Horlick 51-32 in their season opener on Saturday afternoon at the Acuity Fieldhouse in Fond du Lac.  Fondy jumped out to a 16-9 lead after 1 quarter as senior Colin Pickart came off the bench to score 5 points.  That lead ballooned to 30-17 at the half.  The game bogged down in the 3rd quarter as Horlick outscored the Cardinals 4-3 to cut that lead to 33-21 heading into the 4th quarter.  Fondy made 8 of 12 free throws in the final quarter to secure the win.  Max Schebel led the Cardinals with 12 points.  Colin Pickart and Joe Schorse each finished with 10 point.  Sophomore Brian Luteyn scored all 6 of his points in the 2nd quarter.  Robert Windsor chipped in 4 points and 10 rebounds.  Danny Sosallo added 4 points and Logan Wendt and Charlie Andrew added 2 points each.  Fondy will open up FVA play on Tuesday night when 7th ranked Appleton West comes to town.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.  It will also stream at kfiz.com.  You can also watch the game live at fodltv.com.
