Fondy Boys Upset Neenah
Max Schebel’s bucket with less than 3 seconds left lifted the Fond du Lac boys basketball team to 45-44 Regional Semifinal win at #2 seed Neenah on Friday night. The 7th seeded Cardinals put the clamps down on Neenah early, and led just 6-4 after one quarter. Neenah rallied back to take a 20-19 lead at the half. The game was tied at 31 heading into the fourth quarter. Fondy was able to build a 5 point lead late before Neenah stormed back to take a one point lead with about 20 seconds left. Joe Schorse had two chances for the game winner late, the first was block, the 2nd missed, before Schebel was able to tap in the game winner. Schebel finished with 19 points on the night. Logan Wendt added 8 as Fondy (12-11) advances to the Regional Final on Monday night against either Appleton West or Stevens Point. That game was postponed to Saturday night because of the snow.
