Fondy Dominates Marshfield

The Fond du Lac Cardinal football team dismantled Marshfield 61-14 in the
Valley Football Association South Division opener on Friday night at Fruth
Field.  Junior running back Justin
Maratik rushed for 256 yards and 5 touchdowns and also had a 15-yard TD
catch.  Those six total touchdowns break
the single game school record of five held by Jim Bond and Craig Koenigs. His
36 total points also tops Koenigs’ mark of 32 points in a single game. Senior
QB Jack Nejedlo completed 8 of 16 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown.  Brian Lutyne caught 4 passes for 95 yards.  Fondy’s reserves played well in the 2nd
half as QB Quinn Woelfel rushed for 109 yards and a TD.  Keon Jefferson ran for a 5 yard score and
Levi Burns had a 47yard TD run late in the game.  Fondy is now 1-0 in the league and 3-0
overall.  They head to Stevens Point next Friday night.  You’ll hear the game on News-Talk 1450
