Fondy Hockey Wins Badgerland Tournament

The Fond du Lac boys hockey team won the inaugural Badgerland Conference Hockey Tournament with a 6-1 win over Oshkosh at the Blue Line Family Ice Center on Saturday night.  Fondy’s senior Ty Rebedew scored twice in the first 10 minutes of the 1st period to take a 2-0 lead.  Both goals were assisted by Michael Wilson.  Oshkosh cut the lead to 2-1 with 6:27 left in the opening period on a goal by Eddie Dempsey.  After that it was all Cardinals as Aaron Krueger and William Barolutti scored 2nd period goals.  Michael Wilson and Bailey Koenigs scored in the 3rd.  Wilson finished with a goal and 2 assists.  Koenigs had a helper to go along with his score.  The win improves Fond du Lac to 18-3-2 on the season.  Oshkosh drops to 11-11-1.  Fondy wraps up the regular season on Tuesday when they host Bay Port at the Blue Line.  The puck drops at 7pm.  Oshkosh hosts Baraboo/Portage next Thursday in their regular season finale.
