Fondy Routes Rapids In Regular Season Finale

The Fond du Lac Cardinal football team took care of business
with a workman like 49-13 win at Wisconsin
Rapids
in their regular season finale on Thursday
night.  Junior Justin Maratik finished
off an impressive first drive for the Cardinals with a 5 yard TD run and the
Cardinals never looked back.  Maratik ran
for 159 yards and two touchdowns in the first half on 25 carries.  Senior QB Jack Nejedlo ran for a 39 yard TD
and threw touchdown passes of 5 yards to Mark Dilling and 68 yards to Bryan
Luteyn as Fondy built a 35-0 lead at the break.
Quinn Woelfel and Joe Kuber added scoring runs of 5 and 4 yards
respectively in the 4th quarter to finish off the Fondy scoring. Nejedlo
finished with 172 yards passing and 44 yards rushing.  Woelfel had 83 yards on the ground and Brian
Luteyn ended up catching 5 passes for 115 yards and a TD.  With the win, Fond du Lac ends their regular season at 8-1
overall and 6-1 in Valley Football Association South Division play.  League leader Oshkosh North (8-0, 6-0) looks
to win the outright league title with a win at Marshfield on Friday night.   Playoff pairings will come out on
Saturday.  Fondy will most likely be a #1
or #2 seed and host a first round playoff game on Friday, October 24th
at Fruth Field.  You’ll hear it on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
