Boys Basketball:

Ripon 82, Winnebago Lutheran 69

–Hunter Auchtung led Ripon with 28 points in the win, while Carson Nell scored 20 points to lead WLA in the loss.

Waupun 69, Laconia 50

–Marcus Domask scored 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors over the Spartans. Laconia got 19 points from Reed Gunnink in the loss.

Girls Basketball:

Central Wisconsin Christian 58, Sheboygan Christian 52

Maryland 64, Wisconsin 60

–Nate Reuvers scored 18 points – all in the second half, with D’Mitrik Trice adding 13 as the Badgers fell on the road to the Terrapins Monday night. Brad Davison gave Wisconsin a 60-59 lead with 2:01 left in the game, but the Badgers would not score again – as Anthony Cowan sunk a three pointer to put Maryland ahead for good with 44 seconds left. Wisconsin drops to 3-3 in conference and 11-6 overall – they’ll host #2 Michigan on Saturday.

CBB News:

Marquette remained the only in-state team ranked in this week’s national polls. The Golden Eagles climbed six spots in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25. Marquette sits at number 13 in the coaches poll and 15th in the AP Top 25. The Wisconsin Badgers remain unranked in both polls – picking up 31 votes in the AP Poll and three votes in the coaches poll. The top 10 of the AP Poll remains unchanged – with Duke, Michigan and Tennessee holding down the top three this week.

NBA:

The Milwaukee Bucks return to the home court tonight as they play the Miami Heat at Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee has lost their last six games against Miami – including a 94-87 loss in Miami on December 22nd. The Bucks are in second place in the east with a 30-12 record, and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Heat are sixth in the east with a 21-20 record and a 6-4 mark in their last 10 games. Tipoff time tonight is 7pm – no broadcast on KFIZ.

NFL:

NFL Network is reporting that the Packers will be hiring former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to the same position on new head coach Matt LaFleur’s staff. Hackett was fired by the Jaguars on November 26th, after the team’s offense struggled due to inconsistent quarterback play, injuries and other personnel issues. Hackett also spent time as the offensive coordinator in Buffalo and had several stints at the college level.
