MLB:

The Brewers made a blockbuster move Thursday evening, acquiring outfielder Christian Yelich from the Miami Marlins for a number of top prospects. In exchange for Yelich, Milwaukee will send outfielders Lewis Brinson and Monte Harrison, shortstop Isan Diaz and pitcher Jordan Yamamoto. Yelich is a career .290 hitter with 59 home runs, 293 RBI and 72 stolen bases in 643 games. He hit .282 with 18 homers and 81 RBI in 156 games last season. The 26-year-old signed a seven year contract with Miami in March 2015, that runs through the 2021 season with a club option for 2022.

The Brewers also signed free agent outfielder Lorenzo Cain. ESPN.com reports the deal is for five years and worth $80 million. Cain batted .300 with 15 home runs and 49 RBI in 2017 with Kansas City. He was a 17th-round draft pick by Milwaukee in 2004.
