High School Hockey:

It was a busy weekend for the FDL Warbirds/Beaver Dam Co-Op team in Girls Hockey as they competed in and won the Beaver Dam tournament. The Warbirds/BD Co-op defeated Lakeland on Friday night 6-0, then shut out Medford 12-0 in their first game Saturday. In the Tournament Championship, the Warbirds defeated Brookfield 8-2. With the tournament sweep the Warbirds Co-Op sports a 15-5 record and is ranked 10th in the state.

In boys hockey action on Saturday, Fond du Lac scored a 9-1 win over Cedarburg at the Blue Line, while St. Mary’s Springs and Antigo skated to a 3-3 tie.

#1 Villanova 85, Marquette 82

--Andrew Rowsey scored 29 points, making five three-pointers as Marquette fell short of top-ranked Villanova at the Bradley Center. The Golden Eagles host Butler on Wednesday.

Big Ten:

Michigan State 74, Maryland 68

Purdue 74, Indiana 67

--17 straight wins for the Boilermakers, who are 10-0 in the Big Ten

The Badgers return to the court tonight at the Kohl Center as Nebraska visits Madison. It’s the second meeting between the teams this year, as the Huskers scored a 63-59 triumph over the Badgers in Lincoln on January 9th. Nebraska has won four of their last five, including Saturday’s 98-84 win over Iowa, while Wisconsin has lost four of five, after Friday’s 76-61 loss at Michigan State. The Huskers are 7-4 in league play and 16-8 overall, while Wisconsin sits at 3-6 in the Big Ten and 10-12 overall. Pregame coverage begins at 7pm with tipoff at 8 on KFIZ.

--Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 27 points, Khris Middleton added 20 as the Bucks defeated Chicago on the road Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee hosts Philadelphia tonight at 7pm.


Pro Bowl:

AFC 24, NFC 23

--Oakland’s Derek Carr connected with Tennessee’s Delanie Walker for an 18 yard touchdown pass with 1:31 left to play in the game as the AFC rallied to defeat the NFC in the Pro Bowl in Orlando. The Packers’ Davante Adams did not catch a pass despite being targeted twice in the game. Defensive tackle Mike Daniels recorded two tackles in the loss for the NFC.
