College Hoops:

The UW-Oshkosh Women’s Basketball has been picked to finish third in the WIAC by the conference’s coaches and sports information directors. The Titans return three starters from last year’s team, which went 21-6 and reached the championship game of the WIAC Tournament for the fifth straight season. UW-Whitewater was picked to win the league with UW-Eau Claire picked second. Behind Oshkosh are La Crosse in fourth, Stevens Point in fifth, River Falls in sixth, Stout in seventh and Platteville in eighth. Oshkosh plays an exhibition game Sunday against the Wisconsin Badgers at the Kohl Center.

NBA:

The Bucks look to make it eight wins in a row to start the season tonight as they visit the Boston Celtics. Boston is 5-2 and in second place in the Atlantic Division behind Toronto. The Celtics have won three in a row, including back-to-back wins over Detroit last Saturday and on Tuesday. We’ll join coverage in progress after the Paul Chryst Show on KFIZ.

MLB:

Another coaching change for the Brewers – as pitching coach Derek Johnson is leaving the team to join another team in the NL Central. Brewers GM David Stearns announced Wednesday that Johnson is leaving the club – and sources told The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal that Johnson will be taking the same position with Cincinnati. The Brewers starting rotation was fifth in the majors with a 3.73 ERA, while the bullpen sported a 3.47 ERA. The bullpen’s mark dropped to 1.98 in September. Johnson is the third coaching staff member to depart since the season ended. Hitting coach Darnell Coles resigned last week, while bullpen coach Lee Tunnell was fired.
