Girls Swimming & Diving:

WIAA State Swim Meet:

Fond du Lac’s Isabella Jones and Grace Sphatt competed at the WIAA Girls State Swim Meet on Saturday. Jones placed 19th in the 200 yard freestyle, while Sphatt placed 21st in the 500 yard freestyle

NFL:

Green Bay 31, Miami 12

–Aaron Jones carried the ball 15 times for 145 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Packers to a win over the Dolphins at Lambeau Field Sunday afternoon. Aaron Rodgers completed 19 passes for 199 yards and two scores – both to Davante Adams. The Packers defense helped set up two scores for the offense – with a fumble recovery in the first half and an interception in the second half leading to points for the green & gold. Green Bay’s lead was just two points – 14-12 – early in the third quarter, until the Packers scored the game’s final 17 points to seal the win.

The Packers improve to 4-4-1 and have a short week – visiting Seattle on Thursday

Chicago 34, Detroit 22

–Mitchell Trubisky threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns in the win for the Bears. Chicago is 6-3 and hosts Minnesota next Sunday night. The Lions drop to 3-6 and host Carolina on Sunday.

College Football:

There were relatively few changes to this week’s Associated Press Top 25 – with the top seven teams holding serve from last week. Alabama remains number one with Clemson at two, Notre Dame at three, Michigan at four and Georgia at five. Oklahoma is at six, West Virginia at seven, with Washington State up two spots to number eight, Ohio State at nine and LSU at number 10.

Two teams from Wisconsin made it to the NCAA Division 3 football playoff field this season. UW-Whitewater, the WIAC Champion, will host Eureka College of Illinois in the first round on Saturday. Midwest Conference Champion St. Norbert College will play at Trine University of Indiana in Saturday’s first round.

–Brook Lopez led the Bucks with 28 points, making 8 of 13 from three point distance as Milwaukee beat Denver to wrap up a four-game road trip Sunday night. The Bucks also got 22 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo and 21 points from Khris Middleton in the win. Milwaukee is 10-3 and plays the next six games at home – starting with Wednesday night’s matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.
