The McNeese State Cowboys visit the Kohl Center for a non-conference game against the Wisconsin Badgers tonight (Wednesday). McNeese State just picked up its first win with a 104-33 rout of Southern-New Orleans.  The game is part of the Legends Classic tournament which features eight teams from eight different conferences. Wisconsin (1-1) defeated Eastern Illinois Friday. Big Ten Player of the Week Nate Reuvers has started the season with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six-and-a-half blocks-per-game in two outings. Tipoff time tonight is at 6 pm, coverage starts at 5 on KFIZ. 

Also in action tonight – Marquette hosts Purdue in the Gavitt Tipoff Games. The Golden Eagles are 1-0, while Purdue is 1-1. Tipoff is 8 pm from Fiserv Forum.

–The Titans got a double-double from Eric Peterson – 18 points and 12 rebounds – as they picked up the win on the road to improve to 2-0 on the season. Oshkosh is back in action next Tuesday (November 19th) at Carthage College.

College Football: 

The Wisconsin football team is ranked 14th in the latest rankings released by the College Football Playoff Committee. Wisconsin is 7-2 after their 24-22 win over Iowa last Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. LSU takes over the top spot in this week’s rankings, with Ohio State dropping down to number two. Clemson jumps two spots to number three, with Georgia climbing to number four. The Badgers travel to Nebraska on Saturday, kickoff is 11 am. 

NFL:

The Packers will return from their bye week to play in prime-time. The NFL announced Tuesday that Green Bay’s game against the San Francisco 49ers has been flexed to the Sunday Night Football timeslot. The game will move from Fox to NBC and will kickoff at 7:20 pm. The game was originally scheduled for 3:25 pm. It’s the fifth time this season the Packers will play a nighttime game – with one more prime-time game set to come against Minnesota on December 23rd. The Packers sit at 8-2, while San Francisco is 8-1. 

MLB: 

Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell was narrowly defeated by the Cardinals’ Mike Shildt for the 2019 National League Manager of the Year award. Major League Baseball made the announcement Tuesday. Shildt led the Cardinals to the National League Championship Series. Counsell actually got more first-place votes than Shildt, 13-to-10, but Shildt got more total points from the Baseball Writers Association of America, 95-to-88. Rocco Baldelli of Minnesota won the American League Manager of the Year Award.
