NFL:

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers confirmed on his Instagram account Tuesday night that he’s been medically cleared to return to play in Sunday’s game at Carolina. The announcement comes after a day of discussion with medical personnel, led by team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Rodgers had undergone tests to determine how his surgically repaired right collarbone had healed and that the decision was in an “evaluation stage”. Rodgers broke the collarbone on October 15th against Minnesota on a hit by Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr. Backup quarterback Brett Hundley took his place, winning three of the Packers seven games in that span to keep the team in the playoff hunt with a 7-6 mark. The Packers and Panthers kickoff at Noon on Sunday, pregame coverage begins at 10am on KFIZ.

Former Packers players Ryan Longwell and Mark Tauscher will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame this summer. The ceremony will be held July 21st at the Lambeau Field Atrium. Longwell kicked for nine seasons in Green Bay, totaling 1,054 career points. That total stood as the team’s all-time scoring mark until 2015. Tauscher played in 134 games with 132 starts during his eleven-year Packer career.

College Football:

Wisconsin linebacker Jack Cichy has decided to enter the NFL Draft, foregoing a chance to ask the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility because of a right knee injury. Cichy announced his decision in a story posted Tuesday morning on The Players Tribune website. Cichy tore his ACL during fall camp and missed all of this season. In 2016, his season was cut short because of a torn pectoral muscle he suffered midway through the season.
