A total of six Badgers, including guard Beau Benzschawel, tackle Michael Dieter, David Edwards, TJ Edwards, Fumagalli and Jonathan Taylor earned All-America recognition from at least one of the five outlets recognized by the NCAA. Kasper is the first UW-Oshkosh athlete to win the award which has been given out annually since 1993. Kasper is a two-time winner of the WIAC’s Offensive Player of the Year award, helping lead the Titans to a WIAC title and final four trip this year, and an appearance in the Stagg Bowl in 2016. Kasper is the second WIAC player to win the award, joining Whitewater’s Justin Beaver who won the honor in 2007.

MLB:

A person familiar with the contract says free-agent reliever Anthony Swarzak has reached a deal with the New York Mets. The person spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday because Swarzak still needed to complete a physical. Swarzak is set to get $14 million over two years. Swarzak was a combined 6-4 with two saves and a 2.33 ERA in 70 games last season for the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee.
