Girls High School Hockey:

Fox Cities 6, FDL Warbirds/Beaver Dam 4

--The Warbirds/Beaver Dam Co-op falls to 7-1 on the season as Fox Cities scored three goals in the third period to pull out the win

We will have Girls High School basketball on KFIZ tonight. It’s an early-season battle for first place in the Flyway as St. Mary’s Springs hosts Laconia. Coverage begins at 7pm, tipoff at 7:15.

College Football:

The Wisconsin football program announced the signing of 26 players for their 2018 recruiting class, which consisted of 19 scholarship players and seven walk-ons. Ten of the 26 signees are in-state recruits, four of them will be on scholarship for the Badgers in the fall. Wednesday marked the first ever early signing period in college football for recruits, which essentially moved up National Signing Day up six weeks. Signing day is traditionally held on the first Wednesday in February.

The Bucks have assigned rookie D.J. Wilson to the Wisconsin Herd of the NBA G-League. Wilson already has an assignment to the Herd this year, having scored a team high 24 points in a win over the Iowa Wolves on December 1st. Wilson has appeared in 11 games for the Bucks this year, averaging just under a point per game in 3.6 minutes per contest.

Grand Rapids 111, Wisconsin 104

--Xavier Munford scored 22 points to lead the Herd in the loss. DJ Wilson had 12 points and five rebounds in 34 minutes of action. Wisconsin begins a four-game road trip on Saturday against the Westchester Knicks.
