–Aidan Ottery scored 18 points, Matthew Moul added 12 in the loss for the Ledgers at the Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook Shootout. Springs will play St. Thomas More at the Shootout on Saturday at Noon

–Syd Schultz scored 15 points to lead Mayville in the loss

Boys Swimming:

Fond du Lac finished 12th at the Metro Swim Invite hosted by Homestead High School. The Cardinals scored 61 team points. Highlights of the meet for Fondy include an eighth place finish for Andrew Parlk in the 100 yard freestyle and a  10th place finish for Park in the 100 yard breaststroke. Carter Drost placed ninth in the 200 yard breaststroke, with Bill Schultz placing ninth in the 400 yard individual medley.

College Football:

Pinstripe Bowl:

Wisconsin 35, Miami 3

–Jonathan Taylor ran for 205 yards and the Badgers defense forced five turnovers as Wisconsin routed Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl Thursday evening. Taylor carried the ball 27 times and ran for a touchdown in the win, with the Badgers offense putting up 406 total yards against the Hurricanes defense. For the season, Taylor rushed for 2,194 yards – becoming the 29th player in FBS history to go over 2,000 yards for a season. For Miami, their offense was stagnant – with their quarterbacks combining to go 6 of 17 for 48 yards and four interceptions in the loss. With the win, Wisconsin finishes the year at 8-5 and has now won their last five bowl games.

Independence Bowl:

Baylor 45. Vanderbilt 38

The bowl season rolls along today with three more games. The action begins this afternoon, as Purdue plays Auburn in the Music City Bowl. Later, West Virginia takes on Syracuse in the Camping World Bowl from Orlando and tonight Washington State plays Iowa State in the Alamo Bowl from San Antonio.

NBA:

Milwaukee 112, New York 96

–Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 31 points and added 14 rebounds and eight assists as the Bucks completed the sweep of the Knicks for the week at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The Bucks also got 25 from Khris Middleton and 17 points from Brook Lopez. Milwaukee is 24-10 – they welcome Brooklyn to Milwaukee on Saturday, tipoff time is 4pm.
