HS Sports News:


The WIAA Board of Control voted 6-5 in opposition to a Rural/Urban competitive equity plan at its January meeting Wednesday. The plan for high school basketball sought to place schools in divisions three, four and five by enrollment and by U.S. Census data with classification codes based on proximity to urban areas. In addition, the board approved moving the Boys Volleyball State Tournament to the Resch Center in Green Bay to coincide with the Girls Volleyball Tournament beginning in 2019.

Tonight, Wisconsin welcomes Northwestern to the Kohl Center. The Badgers have lost six of seven and sit at 3-7 in the Big Ten and 10-13 overall. Meanwhile. Northwestern comes in with a 3-3 mark in their last six games and sits at 4-6 in conference and 13-10 overall. The Badgers most recently lost to Nebraska on Monday 74-63, while Northwestern fell on the road at Michigan Monday night by a score of 58-47. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 tonight with tipoff at 7:30 on KFIZ.

NBA:


The Bucks plan to limit forward Jabari Parker to about 15 minutes in his first game back from a left knee injury that has sidelined him for the past year. Parker is scheduled to return for Friday’s home game against the New York Knicks. He said after practice Wednesday that he was told he would go about 15 minutes off the bench. Parker was the second overall pick in the 2014 draft. He tore his left ACL for the second time in his career on Feb. 8, 2017, against Miami. Parker tore the same ACL in December 2014, ending his rookie season after 25 games


NFL:


Fox and the NFL have agreed to a five-year deal for Thursday night football games. Those games previously were televised by CBS and NBC, two of the league's other network partners. Fox announced Wednesday that it will televise 11 games between Weeks 4 and 15, with simulcasts on NFL Network and Fox Deportes.
