Girls High School Basketball:

Seeding meetings for the WIAA Girls Basketball tournament were held over the weekend, and the matchups for area teams have been determined.

Division One:

Fond du Lac earned a #12 seed in their regional and will travel to #5 seed Germantown on Friday, February 23rd.

Division Three:

Laconia earned a #1 seed in their regional and will host the winner of the #8 Columbus vs. #9 Watertown Luther Prep game on Friday, February 23rd.

#7 North Fond du Lac will host #10 seed Omro on Tuesday, February 20th. The winner advances to face #2 seed Waupun on Friday the 23rd.

#6 Lomira will host #11 Campbellsport on Tuesday the 20th. The winner travels to #3 Mayville on Friday the 23rd.

#12 Ripon travels to #5 Winneconne on Tuesday the 20th. The winner travels to #4 Berlin on Friday the 23rd.


#9 seed Chilton travels to #8 seed Cedar Grove-Belgium on Tuesday the 20th.

#10 seed New Holstein travels to #7 seed Denmark on Tuesday the 20th

#4 seed Kiel hosts the winner of #5 Sheboygan Falls vs. #12 Two Rivers game on Friday the 23rd.

Division Four:

St. Mary’s Springs earned a #1 seed in their regional and will host the winner of the #8 Waterloo vs. #9 Parkview game on Friday, February 23rd.

Winnebago Lutheran earned a #11 seed in their regional and will travel to #6 seed Kewaunee on Tuesday, February 20th.

Division Five:

Oakfield earned a #5 seed in their regional and will host #12 Seed University Lake School/Trinity Academy on Tuesday, February 20th.

Central Wisconsin Christian earned a #3 seed in their regional and will host #14 seed Pecatonica on Tuesday, February 20th.

We’ll have girls basketball tonight on KFIZ as Fond du Lac plays host to Oshkosh West. Tipoff time is at 7:30 pm.

Men’s College Basketball:

Big Ten:

Michigan 83, Wisconsin 72

--Ethan Happ scored 29 points for the Badgers, but it wasn’t enough as Michigan shot 65 percent from the floor in the first half, en route to a 22-point halftime lead and an eventual 11-point win at the Kohl Center in Madison. The Badgers cut Michigan’s lead to single digits within the final three minutes of the game, but the Wolverines were able to ice the game at the free throw line, as Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman went seven of eight from the line down the stretch for Michigan. Wisconsin drops to 4-10 in conference and 11-16 overall, they’ll host Purdue on Thursday.
