Girls Basketball:

WIAA Division 3 State Semifinals:

Laconia 67, Freedom 53

–Kiarra Otto scored 28 points, with Maci Grade and Haley Rens each adding 11 points as the Spartans won their State Semifinal matchup with Freedom to advance to Saturday’s Division 3 State Championship Game. The Spartans led 25-23 at halftime, and outscored the Irish 42-30 in the second half to seal the win. Laconia will play Marshall in the title game around 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the Resch Center in Green Bay.

Boys Basketball:

WIAA Division 3 Sectional Semifinals:

Waupun 79, Columbus 36

–Marcus Domask scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Warriors as they advance to Saturday’s sectional final. Waupun will play Brookfield Academy with a trip to state on the line at Brown Deer High School.

Men’s College Basketball:

Big Ten:

Wisconsin 65, Iowa 45

–Seniors Ethan Happ and Kahlil Iverson each posted double-doubles on senior night at the Kohl Center as the Badgers manhandled the Hawkeyes to sweep the season series with Iowa. Happ had 21 points and 14 rebounds while Iverson added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Iowa shot just 30 percent from the floor in the loss. The Badgers close out the regular season Sunday at Ohio State

Women’s College Basketball:

Big Ten Tournament:

Wisconsin 73, Ohio State 63

–Marsha Howard scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Kelly Karlis scored a career high 23 points as the Badgers shocked the #5 seed Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament in Indianapolis. The Badgers outscored the Buckeyes 51-31 in the second half to pull out the win. Wisconsin plays Michigan in the quarterfinals this afternoon.

D3 College Hoops:

The UW-Oshkosh Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams will open play in the Division 3 Sweet 16 tonight. The Titan men will host a four-team pod at the Kolf Sports Center, with Oshkosh playing Loras College of Iowa and St. Thomas (MN) taking on Guilford. The Titan women travel to St. Paul, Minnesota for the Sweet 16 where they will play Wartburg College of Iowa tonight. Winners advance to the Elite 8 Saturday night.

NBA:

Milwaukee 117, Indiana 98

–Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while Khris Middleton added 27 points in the win for the Bucks over the Pacers at Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee welcomes Charlotte to town Saturday night.

MLB Spring Training:

–Tyler Saladino had two hits – including a home run in the loss for the Brewers. Milwaukee plays Arizona this afternoon – coverage starts at 12:55 on KFIZ with first pitch at 1:05.
