The Alliance of American Football appears to be another failed attempt to compete with the NFL, as the AAF has suspended operations eight games into its planned 10-game schedule. Co-founder and former NFL executive Bill Polian said the decision was made on financial grounds by majority owner Tom Dundon, who also owns the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. Virtually everyone involved with the first-year league will be terminated within the next two days, leaving only grounds crews and equipment staff to clean up the remains.
