--Freddy Peralta tossed eight scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts to lead the Brewers to the sweep of the Reds in Cincinnati. Manny Pina drove in the game’s only run in the second inning on a single to center field. Alex Wilson picked up his first save of the season by throwing a scoreless ninth inning. The Brewers are off today and welcome the Chicago Cubs to town for three games starting tomorrow night.

College Hoops:


Green Bay is gunning for the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament title tonight.  The Phoenix play at Marshall in the CIT championship. Green Bay got by Texas Southern in the semifinals on an overtime jumper by Sandy Cohen the Third.


After weeks of speculation, Texas A&M has officially lured Buzz Williams away from Virginia Tech to be its new coach. Williams, a Texas native who spent two seasons as an Aggies assistant from 2004 to 2006, led Virginia Tech to three NCAA Tournament appearances in five years, highlighted by a trip to the Sweet 16 this season. The 46-year-old previously guided Marquette to five NCAA Tournament berths, including a run to the Elite Eight in 2013, over a six-year span


NFL:


Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy sounded off on his abrupt firing immediately following a game last December, telling ESPN the situation "couldn't have been handled any worse." McCarthy was let go after 13 seasons in Green Bay after the team fell to 4-7-1 following a 20-17 home loss to the Cardinals on Dec. 2. "There was no emotion to it," McCarthy said about being told of his dismissal by team president Mark Murphy. "That was hard."
