–The Sabres take on Concordia-Chicago in an elimination game this afternoon.

Marian head coach Jordan Baitinger was named the conference Coach of the Year Thursday after improving the Sabres’ win total by seven games over last year. The team’s ERA dropped by 1.36 runs and the team batting average climbed eight points this season. Sophomore pitcher Zachariah Sandoval and senior infielder Jordan Walker both earned first team All-Conference honors, while senior Hunter Berry was given second team honors from the NACC.

–Lorenzo Cain homered and drove in two runs as the Brewers took the first game of a four game series against the Rockies on Thursday night. Travis Shaw added three hits for Milwaukee, who improved to 22-16 on the year. Jhoulys Chacin improved to 3-1 on the year with the win on the mound, Jeremy Jeffress picked up his third save of the year by striking out the side in the ninth inning. Game two of the series is tonight, coverage starts at 7:05, first pitch at 7:40 on KFIZ.
