–Ryan Cole went 2 for 2 with a double and two runs scored for WLA, Seth Gosse was 2 for 3 at the plate in the loss for Laconia

Boys Golf:

Fond du Lac shot a season low 144 to defeat Hortonville in an FVA dual meet at Grand VIew Golf Club in Hortonville. Elliot Nielsen shot a one under par 34 to earn medalist honors, while Sam Nielsen shot an even part 35 to pace the Cardinals.

St. Mary’s Springs finished seventh at the Homestead Invite with a 324. Owen Ahern paced the Ledgers with a 77 to tie for 15th place individually.

–The Cardinals got wins from three singles players and their doubles team of Reese Laning and Jake Degere to defeat the Patriots in FVA action on Tuesday.

–Brent Suter proved to be the hero for the Brewers in a win over the Indians at Miller Park Tuesday night. Suter came in relief of starter Wade Miley, who left after just a third of an inning with a strained oblique, and earned the win for the Crew, allowing two runs on five hits while striking out five. Suter also helped his cause in the batter’s box, crushing a 433 foot home run off of Indians ace Corey Kluber in the third inning. Josh Hader picked up the save, tossing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts to close out the game. Game two of the series is this afternoon, first pitch is at 12:10 pm.
