–Alyssa Muench went 3 for 3 with a home run – and struck out 11 batters in the circle for the Cougars in the win

Baseball:

From Tuesday – St. Mary’s Springs defeated Laconia 10-0 in five innings. Mitch Waechter tossed a no-hitter in the win for Springs.

Boys Golf:

From Monday – St. Mary’s Springs won the Flyway Conference Meet at Whispering Springs Golf Club, hosted by Winnebago Lutheran. The Ledgers shot a 173 as a team, with Doyle Kelly taking first individually with a 38. Lomira and Mayville tied for second place (201), Omro was fourth (208), Laconia fifth (216) and Winnebago Lutheran sixth (228).

Kyle Pelz from St. Mary’s Springs and Trenton Herkstroeter tied for second at the meet – each with a 42. Teddy Schumacher from Springs placed fourth with a 44

From Tuesday – St. Mary’s Springs won the Flyway Conference Meet at the Golf Club at Camelot hosted by Mayville. The Ledgers shot a 171 as a team with Doyle Kelly once again earning medalist honors with a 40. Lomira finished second (178), Mayville third (184), Omro fourth (199), Winnebago Lutheran fifth (209) and Laconia sixth (214).

Kyle Pelz from St. Mary’s Springs, Blake Wondra from Lomira and Trenton Herkstroeter from Winnebago Lutheran all tied for second at the meet with a 41. Casey King from Lomira was fifth with a 42.

Milwaukee 116, Boston 91

–For the first time in 18 years, the Milwaukee Bucks are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals after closing out the Boston Celtics in game five of the semifinal series at Fiserv Forum Wednesday night. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 20 points and added eight rebounds and eight assists in the win for the Bucks. Khris Middleton added 19 points, Eric Bledsoe 18, with George Hill scoring 16 off the bench. Malcolm Brogdon returned to action – and chipped in 10 points in 17 minutes off the bench. Milwaukee awaits the winner of the Philadelphia/Toronto series. Game six is tonight – with the Raptors holding a 3-2 series lead.

–Christian Yelich blasted his 16th home run of the year in the first inning, part of a three-hit performance as the Brewers completed the sweep of the Nationals at Miller Park Wednesday afternoon. Mike Moustakas and Manny Pina also hit home runs in the win for Milwaukee, while Brandon Woodruff struck out nine in six innings of work. The Brewers are off today – and open a three game series against the Cubs in Chicago on Friday afternoon.
