–Freddy Peralta pitched seven shutout innings, striking out 10 batters as the Brewers won game one of their interleague series with the Royals at Miller Park Tuesday night. On offense, Milwaukee blasted three home runs – with Christian Yelich, Jesus Aguilar and Ryan Braun all leaving the park in the win. The final game of the series is this afternoon, Brent Suter gets the start for the Brewers while the Royals counter with Danny Duffy. MLB News:

The Brewers placed outfielder Lorenzo Cain on the 10-day disabled list before Tuesday night’s game with a left groin strain. Cain had been banged up during the weekend series with the Cardinals, leaving Thursday’s game with a cramp in his right hamstring, then got hit by a pitch on both Friday and Saturday and left with a tweak to his groin Saturday. The Brewers called up outfielder Keon Broxton from Triple-A Colorado Springs to take Cain’s spot in the lineup.

The Timber Rattlers announced Tuesday that Brewers pitcher Zach Davies will be making a rehab start for the team Friday. Davies is 2-3 with a 4.24 ERA in six starts for Milwaukee and has been on the disabled list with a rotator cuff injury. Davies made a rehab start for the Timber Rattlers once already this season on May 19th, was then called back up to the Brewers where he made two starts and then was placed back on the D-L. Davies has made two rehab starts in Colorado Springs before this stop in Appleton on the way to rejoining the Brewers.
