WIAA State Tournament:

The Oakfield Oaks play in the State Tournament tonight as they take on Blair-Taylor in the Division Five semifinals at Goodman Diamond in Madison. Oakfield is 23-4 and is returning to state after a one-year absence, while Blair-Taylor is looking for redemption after a loss in the Division Five title game last year – in their first ever appearance at state. Zach Sielaff has our coverage from Madison tonight on KFIZ and KFIZ.com, first pitch is scheduled for 7pm. The winner of tonight’s game advances to Saturday’s Championship Game at 8 am.

–The Rivets won on a walk-off walk as they defeated the Dock Spiders on Wednesday night. Brad Hudson and Dayton Provost each had three hits, while Mitch Boe drove in four runs for the Dock Spiders in the loss. The two teams meet again tonight, first pitch is 6:35 pm. Some former and even current Fond du Lac Dock Spiders players have heard their names called as selections in the Major League Baseball draft this week. Tuesday, former Dock Spider Nick Fortes – a catcher from Ole Miss was selected in the fourth round by the Miami Marlins. Also on Wednesday, pitcher Mike Pascoe was selected by Toronto, while infielder Luke Mangieri was drafted by Pittsburgh. Current Dock Spiders pitcher Jacob Voss was also selected – he was a 27th round selection by the LA Angels on Wednesday.

Cleveland 3, Milwaukee 1

–The Brewers totaled nine hits, but scored just one run in a loss to Cleveland in the series finale against the Indians Wednesday afternoon. Lorenzo Cain, Christian Yelich and Erik Kratz each notched two hits in the loss, the first time Milwaukee has lost three straight since late April against the Chicago Cubs. Indians starter Carlos Carrasco struck out 10 in the win for the Indians. The Brewers are off tonight and open a three-game set against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night.

National League:

NBA Finals – Game 3:

Golden State 110, Cleveland 102

–Kevin Durant scored 43 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Golden State to a 3-0 series lead in the NBA Finals. LeBron James posted a triple-double of 33 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in the loss for Cleveland. The Warriors can close out the series with a win Friday in game four.
