–Thursday’s game between the Dock Spiders and Rivets was postponed because of torrential rain in the Rockford area that caused a rain delay of over an hour. The teams will play a doubleheader today beginning at 5pm – resuming last night’s game in the second inning, then a seven-inning game is to follow.

–The Padres scored six runs in the ninth inning to turn a 4-2 deficit into an 8-4 win in the series finale against the Brewers at Miller Park Thursday afternoon. Manny Pina and Jonathan Schoop each had run-scoring doubles early on to help Milwaukee build their lead, but grand slam from Hunter Renfroe and a solo shot from Franmil Reyes in the ninth gave the Padres the series win. Milwaukee heads to Atlanta for the first of a three-game series tonight – first pitch is 6:35 pm – we’ll join coverage in progress after tonight’s High School Football Preview Hour.

Green Bay 31, Tennessee 17

–Rookie quarterback Tim Boyle threw for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Packers turned a 10-7 halftime deficit into a win over the Titans at Lambeau Field Thursday night. Boyle connected with fellow rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling and UW-Whitewater product Jake Kumerow for those scores just over a minute apart late in the fourth quarter. Valdes-Scantling had five catches for 101 yards in the win. The Packers host the Steelers next Thursday.

–The Bengals scored the game-winning touchdown with 2:04 left in the game to knock off the Bears in the preseason opener.
