FVA Fall Classic:

Fond du Lac went 1-3 in the “Gold Pool” at the fall classic losing to Appleton East, Oshkosh West and Neenah and defeating Oshkosh North. The Cardinals advanced to the seventh place match where they beat Kaukauna in three sets (24-26, 25-13, 19-17).

UW-Oshkosh Invite:

St. Mary’s Springs took first place in their pool on day one of the “Chaos at Kolf”. The Ledgers won over Washington Park (25-6, 25-11), Wausau East (25-16, 25-22) and Valley Christian (22-25, 25-19, 25-7). Brianna Freund led the way with 14 kills, Isabelle Coon had seven service aces, Katie Baker had 24 digs and Rachel Petersen had 24 assists for Springs.

CWC Triangular:

Girls Golf:

Fond du Lac defeated Oshkosh North in an FVA dual meet at Rolling Meadows Golf Course Tuesday. Shefali Bhatt scored a 42 to lead the Cardinals. Gabby Emmer (50), Maisey Willhelms (50), Tessa Wirtz (55). Grace Miller had a 44 to lead North.

–Former Brewer Scooter Gennett clubbed a solo home run in the ninth inning that helped the Reds beat the Brewers in game two of the series Tuesday night at Miller Park. Milwaukee put up four runs in the first inning, but then the Reds combined for seven runs in the third and fourth inning to take the lead. The Brewers tied the game in the eighth on a home run from Jonathan Schoop and a run-scoring double from Ryan Braun, but Gennett’s homer and a run-scoring triple from Mason Williams in the ninth helped the Reds get the win. The final game of the series is this afternoon, coverage starts at 12:35 pm on KFIZ.

College Football:

Five Wisconsin Badgers – including three offensive linemen – were named Associated Press preseason All-Americans Tuesday. Guard Beau Benzschawel was named to the AP first team, while teammates David Edwards and Michael Dieter were named second team All-Americans. Running back Jonathan Taylor and Linebacker TJ Edwards were also named first team All-Americans.

College Basketball:

The Big Ten announced its men’s basketball conference schedule on Tuesday. The conference season begins November 30th, with teams competing in a 20-game schedule for the first time, playing seven teams both home and away and six teams once (three home and three away). All 14 teams will play one conference home and away game between November 30th & December 6th, with the conference season resuming on January 2nd. The Badgers will travel to Iowa on the 30th and host Rutgers on December 3rd and then host Minnesota on January 3rd when conference play resumes.

The Badger women’s basketball team will play at Minnesota to open the conference slate on December 28th.
