St. Mary’s Springs finished 5th place at the “Chaos at Kolf”. On Wednesday the Ledgers got wins over Wausau East, Sheboygan Falls and Pulaski and lost to Merrill. Katie Baker had 28 digs, Rachel Petersen - 35 assists, Brianna Freund - 28 kills and Gracie Rieder had 13 service aces. Freund and Baker were named to the All-Tournament team.

--Christian Yelich hit a lead-off home run, part of a 4-4 day at the plate for Yelich as the Brewers won the series finale against the Reds at Miller Park Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park. Brewers starter Freddy Peralta tossed a three-hit shutout, going seven innings with seven strikeouts in the win. Milwaukee is off today and opens a three-game series with Pittsburgh Friday night.

Baseball News:

The 2018 season is still playing out, but fans can start to look ahead to 2019 for the Milwaukee Brewers as the team’s schedule has been released for next year. Milwaukee will open the season at home with four games against St. Louis - with opening day on March 28th. Milwaukee will also play interleague games against teams from the American League West. --Eddie Silva blasted a walk-off three run home run to give the Timber Rattlers the win.

College Football:

Badgers sophomore wide receiver Danny Davis has been suspended two games for his involvement in an alleged sexual assault. Davis’ teammate, Quintez Cephus was charged Monday with second and third-degree sexual assault of two women from an incident that occurred in April. Cephus released a statement Saturday declaring his innocence and announcing he was taking a leave of absence from the team. Cephus was suspended from the team Monday and is set to appear in court later this morning. Davis is said to have laughed and taken photos of the women during the incident.  Badgers head coach Paul Chryst said in a statement “We have a high standard of conduct within our football program and we cannot accept behavior that is not consistent with that standard.”
