The Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers have agreed to a contract extension, the team announced Wednesday. Former Packers receiver turned reporter James Jones broke the story along with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. A person with knowledge of the deal said the four-year deal is worth $134 million. Rodgers will receive a record $57-million signing bonus and will earn more than $80 million by March. Rodgers previously signed a five-year $110 million extension in 2013 and was set to enter this year with two years remaining on his contract.

Hours before the Packers reportedly agreed to the deal with Rodgers, the team sent one of his backups out of town. ESPN.com first reported the Packers traded Brett Hundley to Seattle in exchange for a 2019 draft pick. Hundley went 3-6 as the Packers starter last year, filling in for an injured Aaron Rodgers. He threw for 1,836 yards, but only nine touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The team confirmed the trade later Wednesday afternoon.

The Packers wrap up the preseason tonight in Kansas City. Coverage starts at 5pm on 107.1 The Bull.
