Girls Volleyball: 

The Winnebago Lutheran Girls Volleyball team went 1-3 at the Reedsville Invite on Friday, defeating Kiel (25-16, 25-14) and losing to Roncalli (25-20, 19-25, 19-25), Chilton (25-19, 25-27) and Reedsville (16-25, 25-23, 21-25). Alyssa Lorenz totaled 17 kills and 7 blocks for the Vikings on the day, Kaylee Frey had 20 kills and four blocks, Luci Baus 31 assists and 11 digs, while Anna Borgwardt added seven aces.

–Jonathan Taylor accounted for four touchdowns – two rushing and two receiving – as the Badgers dominated the Bulls in Tampa on Friday night. The teams waited out a 50-minute lightning delay before the game could start – but that didn’t phase the Badgers, who totaled 433 yards of offense to USF’s 157. Wisconsin welcomes Central Michigan to Camp Randall for the home opener next Saturday.

–Chase Anderson gave up five runs on seven hits in just four innings as the Brewers lost to the Cubs in game one of their weekend series at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon. Nicholas Castellanos hit two, two-run home runs off of Anderson as the Cubs built a 6-0 lead. Manny Pina drove in the Brewers only run in the eighth inning with a single to center field. The second game of the series is this afternoon – Zach Davies starts for Milwaukee against Cole Hamels for Chicago. Coverage starts at 12:45, first pitch is 1:20 on KFIZ.
