–Alex Hornibrook’s 17-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Taylor with just under a minute left in the game put the Badgers ahead for good and helped Wisconsin retain the Heartland Trophy in a battle with Iowa at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. The game was tied at seven at halftime, with Wisconsin taking a 14-10 advantage on a touchdown pass to Danny Davis with 5:12 left in the third quarter. Iowa quarterback Nate Stanley’s second touchdown pass to Noah Fant with 1:37 left in the third put Iowa ahead 17-14, until Wisconsin’s 10-play, 88 yard drive to take the lead. Alec Ingold scored a 33 yard touchdown with 22 seconds left to cap off the win.

Hornibrook threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, while Jonathan Taylor had 25 carries for 113 yards in the win. The Badgers are off next Saturday and host Nebraska on Saturday, October 6th.
