Major League Baseball:

Interleague:

Houston 3, Milwaukee 2 (10 Innings)

--George Springer hit the go-ahead solo home run in the top of the 10th inning to help lift the Astros past the Brewers in game one of their series at Miller Park on Monday afternoon. The Brewers had tied the game in the ninth, thanks to a solo homer from Christian Yelich - his second ninth inning homer in as many days, and his 43rd on the season. The Brewers would get the winning run on base with one out in the bottom of the 10th, but Yelich and Hernan Perez would strike out to end the game. The final game of the series is tonight - Jordan Lyles gets the start for Milwaukee against Zack Greinke for Houston. Coverage starts at 6:05, first pitch at 6:40 on KFIZ.

Chicago Cubs 5, Seattle 1

National League:

NFL News:

Linebacker James Crawford made the Packers' 53-man roster announced Saturday, but he didn't make it all the way to the first game.  Crawford has been waived to make room for linebacker B-J Goodson after a trade. Crawford was solid on special teams during the 2018 season but struggled at inside linebacker against the run and in pass coverage.  The Packers sent a seventh-round draft choice to the New York Giants to pick up Goodson.

College Football:

Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor has been named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Badgers past South Florida in the season opener last Friday. Taylor totaled 183 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns in the win, becoming the first Big Ten player to record at least two rushing and two receiving touchdowns in the same game since 2010. The award is the fifth time Taylor has earned Offensive Player of the Week in his career.

It may have been a 49-0 blowout in the season opener, but several Wisconsin Badgers were hurt in the win over South Florida.  At least three starters will miss the team's home opener Saturday against Central Michigan. Offensive lineman Logan Bruss, safety Scott Nelson and linebacker Izayah Green-May will be sidelined by injuries for the game at Camp Randall stadium.  Senior linebacker Chris Orr has been listed as questionable for the second game of the year.
