Kimberly Stops Fondy Boys To Take FVA Title

The Kimberly Papermaker boys basketball team won their first
Fox Valley Association championship in 20 years with a 48-27 win over Fond du Lac on Thursday
night.  Lucky Wurtz’s squad jumped out to
a 22-4 lead after the first quarter and never saw their lead less than 10
points.  Sophomore Caleb Goldstein led
Fondy with 7 points Brian Luteyn added 6.
Kimberly’s Jake Johnson scored 10 of his game high 13 in the first
quarter.  The last time Kimberly (19-3,
16-2) won an FVA title was back in 1995 when they shared the league crown with Fond du Lac.  This year’s version of the Cardinals ends
their regular season at 6-16 overall and 5-13 in the FVA.  Fondy is a #7 seed and heads to #2 seed Neenah on Friday, March 6th
for their Regional Semifinal.  You’ll
hear it on KFIZ.
