Laconia Boys Win Flyway Crown
The Laconia boys basketball team clinched the outright Flyway Conference championship with a 77-69 win over St. Mary’s Springs at the Hutter Gym on Thursday night. Laconia raced out to a 25-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. A 9-0 Ledger run late in the first half sent the game to halftime with Laconia leading 38-35. Tom King’s Spartans held a 60-52 lead at the end of three and held on for the win. Senior Tyler Semenas had 37 points to lead Laconia. Eric Feldner had 25 in a losing effort for St. Mary’s Springs. Laconia improves to 21-0 overall and 13-0 in the Flyway. St. Mary’s Springs drops to 11-2 in the league and 18-3 overall. Laconia hosts North Fond du Lac to wrap up their regular season, while St. Mary’s Springs travels to Omro.
