Laconia Holds Off WLA Boys

The Laconia boys basketball team edged Winnebago
Luthearn 56-50 on Friday night in Rosendale.
The Spartans busted open a tie game at the half with a 13-2 run over the
first 4:44 seconds of the 3rd quarter and never looked back.  WLA rallied back to make it a one possession
game on a few occasions but couldn’t get over the hump and pull even.  Laconia’s
Brett Wittchow scored 11 of his game high 18 points in the 1st half.  Linden Young added 11 for the Spartans.  Tim Edwards netted 15 of his team high 16
points in the 2nd half for WLA.
Will Aird added 9 and Mitch McFarlane 8.
Laconia
(16-3, 9-2) travels to Lomira on Thursday.
WLA (10-8, 5-6) will host cross-town rival St. Mary’s Springs on
Thursday night.  You’ll hear that game on
News-Talk 1450 KFIZ.
