Ledger Boys Fall in OT Opener

Shiocton rallied from 8
points down midway through the 2nd half to steal a 78-74 overtime
win over the St. Mary’s Springs boys basketball team on Tuesday night in the
season opener for both teams. The Ledgers led 34-31 at the break by hitting
eight first half three pointers and putting nine different players in the
scoring column.  SMSA held the lead the
entire 2nd half until a three-pointer by Nathan Schmidt with 1:51
left in regulation tied the game at 66. They went to OT tied at 68.  All ten of Shiocton’s overtime points came
from the free thrown line.  Kurt Mueller
scored 15 of his team high 17 points after the halftime break for the Ledgers.  Austin Feyen added 12 and Owen Spartz 11 in a
losing effort.  Nathan Schmidt finished
with 30 points and Gage Kamp 23 for Shiocton.
